Until recently, Barry was Chairman of a leading digital content network with
proprietary server/projection systems in 27 theaters throughout the 17 major
U.S. markets. With over three decades of business experience in senior management
and advisory capacities, Barry provided extensive financial and business services
to world-class clients such as Allied Signal Corporation, Colony Capital, CSFB,
Nomura Securities, StarBase Corporation and the Bustamante Group. He enabled
access to private and institutional capital and structured financings for private
and public companies, including first-round venture capital engagements and
operating companies for over $500 million of financings. Barry has extensive
professional, technology, and financing relationships in the US and Europe,
presently focusing on media and communications privatizations and acquisitions
in Eastern Europe.. Barry founded Palisades Inc., which financed independent
motion pictures and television and formed a partnership with the Founder of
E! Channel. Barry assembled a private equity fund to acquire the world's largest
record company and structured a $100 million partnership and revolving credit
facility. During his career, Barry has packaged over $300 million worth of
sale lease-backs of computer and telecommunications equipment for Fortune 100
companies, raised venture capital for a Midwestern ISO 9000 software company,
packaged a strategic Mexican partner necessary for cable licensing government
requirements as well as Nomura Securities financing to Mexican central and
state governments. Barry has been a frequent lecturer in the business community
in the areas of taxation and business planning in the media and entertainment
industry in the U.S. and Eastern Europe. Prior to his financial advisory work
with Shelbourne Capital Partners, LLC, Barry was a tax attorney with Bushkin
Kopelson Gaimes Gaines & Wolf, and a member of the Special Trial Staff with the Internal Revenue Service in Washington DC. He earned his LLM at Georgetown University and his JD from the American University Law School.
