Peter Mensch
Q Prime

Peter Mensch is a resident of Manhattan. He majored in Urban Studies at Brandeis University, and received an M.A. in Marketing from the University of Chicago. He began as a tour accountant for Aerosmith, before moving on to Contemporary Communications, where he met Cliff Burnstein.

While at CCC, Burnstein and Mensch honed their skills as managers, working with many of the most successful rock bands of the era including Aerosmith, AC/DC, Ted Nugent, and The Scorpions.

In 1982, Cliff and Peter decided to form their own management company, and Q Prime was born. Initially the company was run out of two flats on opposing continents - with Cliff handling the U.S. out of Hoboken, NJ, and Peter concentrating on the international business from London.

In the span of the last twenty five years, Q Prime has represented acts that have collectively sold more than 175 million albums worldwide. Three albums, Def Leppard's "Pyromania" and "Hysteria", and Metallica's "Metallica" have sold in excess of 10 million each, putting them on the short list (less than 50) of albums in the history of recorded music to achieve "Diamond" certification in the United States. Metallica is the best selling hard rock band of all time; and along with Def Leppard, have been managed by Q Prime throughout their entire careers.

Burnstein and Mensch were chosen as consultants for the Rolling Stones 1989 comeback album "Steel Wheels", and its concurrent tour (one of the five highest grossing tours of all-time). In 1998, they were brought on to work on Madonna's "Ray of Light" album project. The album helped to re-establish Madonna as the premiere female artist throughout the world, and became the second best selling album of her illustrious career.

Cliff and Peter are personally involved in every aspect of their business. Their passion and commitment to Q Prime's artist roster -and the music they create- remain as strong as when they first entered the music business nearly three decades ago. In addition to management, Burnstein and Mensch have explored other projects relating to the music industry, including ownership in a number of radio stations, amphitheater development and management, and the development of a record company, Volcano, a joint venture with Jive Records (the industry's largest independent label)
