Ralph Simon
Ralph Simon is regarded as one of the founders of the modern mobile entertainment industry. After co-founding Zomba & Jive Records and building the formative years of that successful indie and a career in records, music publishing and producer management, he moved to California in the early 90's. He became Executive Vice President of Capitol Records and Blue Note and started EMI's New Media division in the mid nineties. He correctly predicted that mobile phones would become the indispensable voice and music companion for young music consumers. He was responsible for co-founding the first ring tone company in the USA, UK, Europe, Africa and Australia (Yourmobile/Moviso) in 1999, persuading US music publishers to embrace this new mobile medium. He founded the Mobile Entertainment Forum Americas, and was named one of the world's Top 50 executives in mobile entertainment in 2005 and also 2006 by the influential Mobile Entertainment magazine. In July 2005, he produced the mobile layer of the Live 8 global concert , and is Mobile Producer of the forthcoming Live Earth global environmental music concerts and events taking place in 9 global cities on July 7th . He has been one of the early pioneers in blazing the trail for mobile music in the USA and internationally, evangelizing artists, managers and labels to meet the fan's need to link to an artist, via their mobile phone.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in the UK, and a member of the National Academy of Recorded Arts & Sciences in the USA.
