Usher WinslettUsher Winslett is a long-time media and entertainment industry executive and attorney. He is currently the founder and president of WhiteCap Group, LLC, a media and entertainment consulting group (www.whitecapgroup.com). He is also CEO of Odin Media, LLC (www.odinmedia.com), which produces focused, technology-enabled marketing solutions for a variety of businesses, including some of the country's most active marketers (e.g., Comcast and Cablevision).

Prior to forming WhiteCap, Winslett was Chief Operating Officer of DCN (now part of eMusic, www.emusic.com), a groundbreaking company that pioneered using digital and internet technologies to record and webcast live concert performances. Under Winslett's leadership, DCN built the world's largest catalog of live music recordings, released dozens of critically and commercially successful CDs, produced the largest online music event in history (over 200 bands in 25 venues, all webcast live), raised millions in venture capital financing, and sustained steady growth - all in the post-Internet-bubble economy and in the face of the general unraveling of the music business. That success ultimately led to the sale of the company to Dimensional Associates in Q2, 2003 (its first purchase in a string of media industry acquisitions including DreamWorks Publishing, eMusic, and The Orchard Enterprises). Prior to joining DCN, Winslett was a principal in Razor & Tie Entertainment (www.razorandtie.com), which he helped build from a small start-up into a thriving multi-faceted media company that includes one of the nation's most successful direct marketers of entertainment products, a media-buying unit, and a record label with multiple Gold and Platinum releases. Winslett began his career practicing law with the New York firm Thacher Proffitt & Wood (www.tpwlaw.com).

Winslett is a frequent speaker at media-industry events on the impact of new technologies on the media and entertainment businesses and a regular guest lecturer at colleges and business schools, including NYU's Stern School of Business.

Winslett's diverse background includes everything from starting and running an imported apparel company to managing a Congressional campaign to executive-producing multiple albums, music videos, and a short film.

Winslett graduated with honors from Washington & Lee University and New York University Law School. He is married with two children and lives in New York City.
